Daniel J. Dwyer

Managing Principal – Dwyer Capital Strategies L.L.C.

With 25+ years of industry experience focused on capital markets risk and other funds management issues for financial institutions, Dan has a unique background assisting clients in developing and implementing creative ALCO, interest rate derivative, and broader funding solutions.

Contributing to this expertise, Dan spent time as Senior Vice President and Director of Product Development with Digital Visions, Inc., a web based company providing interest rate risk and investment portfolio models for banks and credit unions.  Additionally, Dan has held positions as Managing Director with Piper Jaffray Companies, as well as senior level positions with the U.S. Bank derivatives team and Norwest Bank’s investment services division.

For the past 8 years, Dan has built his independent consulting platform that allows him to effectively act as a “Part-Time Treasury employee” for each and every one of his clients.  This approach allows for a deeper, trusted relationship.  One that promotes a detailed understanding of the client’s risks and goals, and drives “Action-Based” results that proactively identifies Capital Markets risks and opportunities, and puts creative solutions in place.

Additionally:

Dan has spoken to many industry related and state association groups about asset/liability and derivatives management – including the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council’s (FFIEC) continuing education series (Washington D.C.), and the various state banking organizations including Minnesota, Missouri, and Kansas.

As a faculty member of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin, Dan currently leads sessions related to interest rate risk and derivatives (Swaps) management.  He actively participates as a member, or chairs many Investment and Asset/Liability Committees for a number of community banks and credit unions.

He holds a business degree in finance from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN.
